'Celebrity Tipping Point NZ': Familiar face revealed to host iconic quiz show

A blurred man with a large white question mark on his face, wearing a light blazer and white shirt, stands on the brightly lit set of the game show "Tipping Point," visible on screens and a physical game board.

A beloved evening tele show is coming to Aotearoa, and a familiar host has just been revealed.

‘Celebrity Tipping Point NZ’ will see famed Kiwis dropping counters into the plinko-style machine, answering general knowledge questions, and trying to push prizes over the edge - all for charity.

NZ news and TV presenter Daniel Faitaua will be guiding three Kiwi celebs per episode as they battle it out on a quiz show later this year.

“You can’t underestimate how much we as a nation love quizzing,” Daniel said in a statement

Expect a show that’s livelier, more Kiwiana, with a surprise or two. I’m so excited and can’t wait to get stuck in.

TVNZ’s chief news and content officer, Nadia Tolich, says the celebrity twist lets the show take a “distinctly Kiwi flavour.”

“Daniel is a fantastic presenter, and with him at the helm - alongside a raft of well-known faces playing for charity - Celebrity Tipping Point NZ will be a fun, entertaining and competitive addition to our primetime lineup,” she said.

The 10-episode series is expected to hit our screens later this year on TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+.

The exact celebrity lineup and premiere date are yet to be revealed - but it’s fair to say it’s one quiz show we’re keen to see in action.

Last year, we saw the success of NZ’s turn at ‘The Chase’ with host Paul Henry

The four-episode stint was a hit among an already quiz-obsessed Kiwi audience.

We saw 16 contestants going head-to-head with some of 'The Chase' Australia’s most iconic Chasers - ‘The Governess’ Anne Hegerty and ‘The Supernerd’ Issa Schultz.

Something tells me we’ll be locked in on the tele when Tipping Point finally airs. Who are you keen to see in the lineup?!
