‘The Chase’ UK’s Governess Anne Hegerty is going from quiz whiz to horror actress.
In a chat with OK!, Anne spilled she’s just wrapped a cameo in ‘Deadcast’ - a low-budget indie film.
According to a movie summary, ‘Deadcast’ tells the story of two podcasters who take their show on the road, investigating individuals who claim to have experienced the supernatural.
“As they delve deeper into chilling encounters and eerie tales, they begin to question if their search for the unknown might lead them to something far more terrifying than they could have ever imagined.”
Anne plays a character who’s been deeply affected by unexplained extraterrestrial encounters.
“I play a woman who saw a UFO, put it on the internet and got massively trolled and ended up becoming a recluse,” she explains.
“There’s a scene where they interview me in my garden, and I’m showing them where I saw the UFO.”
She added: "I would love to do a bit of acting. I’d love a chance to do a comedy role. I do love being funny."
There’s no denying we’ve seen some of her incredible comedic timing on ‘The Chase’ and may see it again when the New Zealand version of the show drops.
Paul Henry will host a four-episode special of the mega-popular quiz show. Following the original format we all know and love, NZ contestants will be going head-to-head with some of 'The Chase' Australia’s most iconic Chasers.
Or if they’re lucky, come face-to-face with Anne.
This announcement makes NZ the 22nd country to produce a local version of the show.
A release date is yet to be announced.
