Win a field trip for your child

Wellington's More FM have teamed up with Wheako Pōneke Experience Wellington to get children out of the classroom and into a hands-on learning experience.

This collaborative, full-day experience (9:30 am – 3:00 pm) brings together two Wheako Pōneke Experience Wellington sites for an immersive journey centered on Wellington’s kororā (little blue penguins). The winning class begins their morning at Te Waka Huia Wellington Museum with the learning experience "Kororā – Lessons from Little Blue Penguins." During this session, ākonga explores the story of local kororā while discovering the significance of taonga species, coastal habitats, and healthy ecosystems.

In the afternoon, the tamariki head to Nōku te Ao Capital E to the OnTV Studio, a live television production studio where ākonga learn how film, tv and media can be used to share stories and information.The class will work as a team to create a breakfast news show ‘Wake Up Aotearoa!’ about the kororā, with each student playing a unique role either in front of the camera or behind-the-scenes.
