Score a Double Pass

A smiling man holding a microphone stands next to text advertising "Win a Double Pass" to the "Fired Up Barbecue Festival Bay of Islands" presented by "The Rock."

Northland, clear your schedule and loosen your belt.

Northland’s smokin’ hot celebration of fire, food, and music is back. Fired Up Barbecue Festival is firing up at The Old Packhouse Market in Kerikeri on Saturday, 28 March and it’s being MC’d by our very own Rog.

Expect world-class barbecue from some of Aotearoa’s top pitmasters, throwing down everything from American low and slow to Greek, South African, Brazilian and hāngī.

Basically, if it can be cooked over flame, it’ll be there. There’s also an expo Zone stacked with rubs, sauces and enough BBQ gear to make your bank account nervous.

On the music front, it’s just as loud. High-energy Latin vibes from Ke Lo Ke and Kiwi legends The Jordan Luck Band headlining with the anthems you already know by heart.

The Tai Tokerau Low & Slow Barbecue Competition is back too, with top teams battling it out on the New Zealand Barbecue Alliance circuit. Meat, smoke and serious bragging rights.

And because we’re good like that, we’ve got a prize to sort you out properly. We’re hooking one lucky punter up with: • A double pass to Fired Up • One night’s accommodation in Kerikeri for two • A BBQ pack worth $200 To get in the draw, text “Fired” to 3520.

Simple. Now go win yourself a weekend of meat and music.
