Episode Notes
Before smartphones and instant uploads, the Polaroid camera completely revolutionized the world—and it was all inspired by a single impatient toddler! 👧💭
Bondy steps back up to the microphone for another edition of That’s Slightly Interesting, bringing the incredible origin story of instant photography. Back in 1943, inventor Edwin Land was taking family vacation photos when his 3-year-old daughter asked a simple, brilliant question: “Why can’t I see the picture right now?” That very afternoon, the concept of the Polaroid was born!
The story is a massive hit in the studio, and Bondy thinks he’s locked down an absolute unanimous 3-Yes sweep from the team. But just as the celebrations begin, Speedy tries to completely derail the victory by changing his vote at the very last second!
