Episode Notes

Eleanor Pendleton became Australia’s youngest beauty editor at just 20 years old. She then went on to found Gritty Pretty, Australia's first digital only beauty publication. In part one of this conversation with Lorna Jane Clarkson, Eleanor reflects on her early career, interning at Cosmopolitan to navigating tabloid culture, glossy magazines and the shift from print to digital. She shares how those formative years shaped her values, challenged her ethics and laid the foundations for building a platform that helped redefine Australia’s beauty landscape. The @nevergiveuppod is here to celebrate real stories of success and share what happens behind the scenes to make it happen. But it’s also important to us that we give back - so to thank each guest for sharing their story, Lorna Jane is donating $5,000 to a charity of their choice. Eleanor’s chosen charity is Djirra, an Aboriginal women’s charity supporting Indigenous women and families impacted by family violence.
