Every day across NZ, someone faces a medical challenge they never expected, and many of those people depend on the precious gift of a blood or plasma donation.

Plasma is the golden liquid that makes up more than half our blood, and it’s used to treat over 50 illnesses from cancer and kidney disease to blood clots and liver failure and used to make up to 11 lifesaving products.

But NZ Blood needs your help. They need more New Zealanders to donate blood and plasma regularly as each week they’re finding it challenging to meet on-going demand.

In the lead up to Christmas, at their new donor centre in 65 Constellation Drive, each week they need 20 blood donations and 126 plasma donations. It’s safe, repeatable, and is an immediate and fulfilling way you can change lives with a small act of kindness.

To check if you’re eligible to donate blood or plasma, and to book an appointment – including at NZ Blood’s new donor centre at 65 Constellation Drive – go to nzblood.co.nz, download the donor app or pop in for opening day celebrations on Friday 11th November from 11am – 2pm.
