Think you've got what it takes to conquer Everest?
The Marlborough Mount Everest Challenge is back from October 10 to November 29, giving locals the chance to climb the equivalent height of Mount Everest without ever leaving the region.
The challenge is simple: over seven weeks, participants aim to rack up 8,848 metres of elevation, the same height as the world's tallest mountain. Whether you're a keen walker, trail runner, weekend adventurer, or just looking for some extra motivation to get moving, this challenge is for you.
You can take part as an individual or join forces with friends, family, colleagues, or teammates. Popular local tracks like Mt Vernon and Tirohanga are great options, but any Marlborough hill or mountain climb can count towards your total when logged through the challenge website.
It's a fantastic way to explore some of Marlborough's best tracks, set a personal goal, improve your fitness, and enjoy the outdoors while challenging yourself along the way.
