More FM’s Coolest and Cheekiest Tradition

The More FM Mid Winter Swim with Cuddon Engineering is back on the Picton Foreshore Sunday 21st June, with festivities kicking off from 9.30am and the official swim (or brave dip!) at 11am. It’s one of Marlborough’s most loved winter traditions, bringing together families, schools, and fearless locals ready to take on the cold water.

This year, Cuddon is once again standing behind every brave swimmer. One lucky participant will take home a Mitsubishi MSZGS25 heat pump with installation into a Marlborough home - the perfect reward after facing the winter chill.

It’s free to take part, and everyone is welcome. To be eligible for prizes, swimmers must register on the day between 9.30am and 10.30am on the Picton Foreshore.

The Blenheim Rural Fire Force will be on site with a fire truck load of heated water, generously supplied by Vinarchy Winery, to help take the edge off the cold once you’re out of the water.

Dress to impress for the **Fresh Choice Picton Best Dressed Competition - with prizes for best‑dressed adult, best‑dressed kid, and best‑dressed group. Whether you go full winter wonderland, superhero squad, or something completely unexpected, this is your moment to shine before you take the plunge.

Plus, we have loads of spot prizes, and thanks to local schools QCC, Waikawa Bay & Picton School - who’ll be there with a fundraising BBQ to help warm you up. Whether you’re diving in, dipping a toe, or cheering from the sand with a hot drink in hand, the Mid Winter Swim is a celebration of community spirit and local pride.
