An incredible weekend of community and competition is heading to Auckland as More FM proudly presents the launch of New Zealand's largest open water swimming festival.

📅 Dates: Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th February 2027
📍Venue: Sylvan Park, Pupukemoana (Lake Pupuke), Auckland
🏊 Distances: 250m, 500m, 1000m, 2.5K, 5K, 7.5K, 10K, a 4 x 500m Relay, and the NZ Doggy Swim Champs

With distances ranging from 250m to 10K, Freshwater Swim Fest will bring together competitive swimmers, masters athletes, secondary school students, first-timers, families, and the wider swimming community in a festival-style environment across two action-packed days at Auckland's Lake Pupuke!
This brand-new event marks a massive milestone for the local sporting community. Alongside the mass participation swims, the festival will host three national championship events - the NZ Open Water Swimming Championships, NZ Masters Open Water Swimming Championships, and NZ Secondary Schools Open Water Swimming Championships.

Beyond the competitive races, the festival features something for everyone with live music, food trucks, family zones, and live race commentary. High-profile local legends like Olympic finalist Lewis Clareburt and television presenter Wendy Petrie will also be on-site to anchor the ultimate summer festival atmosphere.
