Fresh Kiwi talent is set to light up Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park this summer, with exciting new performers joining some of the event’s most familiar faces across Christchurch and Auckland.

After uncovering a new generation of Kiwi performers through this year’s auditions, Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park is preparing to bring its huge celebration of music, entertainment and Christmas magic to Hagley Park and the Auckland Domain.

For 12-year-old Christchurch performer Cleo Fitzgerald, this year marks another exciting step in her journey. After successfully auditioning and performing at last year’s Christchurch show, Cleo impressed the creative team once again and has been selected to perform at both the Christchurch and Auckland events.

Creative Director Dixon Nacey says Cleo is a great example of what the Christmas in the Park auditions are all about, having continued to develop as a performer since appearing in last year’s show.

Auckland audiences will also be introduced to powerhouse recording artist and singer Ellaphon Tauariki, whose audition made a huge impression on producers.

“He absolutely blew us away,” says Nacey. “He’s an extraordinarily talented young artist, and we have no doubt Auckland audiences will be amazed by what he brings to the stage.”

Joining the next generation of performers will be one of Christmas in the Park’s most recognisable faces — More FM breakfast club host Simon Barnett.

Simon will MC both the Christchurch and Auckland shows alongside Lana Searle, continuing a connection with the event that stretches all the way back to its very first show in 1994. Since then, Simon has hosted the Christchurch event more than 20 times.

The event will also continue its support of Kindness Collective, the official charity of Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park. Funds raised through this year’s events will help support hundreds of families across New Zealand who are doing it tough at Christmas.

With fresh Kiwi talent taking the stage alongside some of the event’s most familiar personalities, Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park is once again set to bring communities together for two huge nights of music, entertainment and Christmas celebration.
