Carterton

Every September, Carterton turns gold. High Street fills with close to 140 market stalls, a heritage steam train rolls in from Masterton, and the paddocks at Middle Run open up for picking your own daffodils.

GETTING TO MIDDLE RUN:

Free shuttle buses only — no private vehicles, and no dogs on site

ON THE DAY:

Market stalls — around 140 stalls of food trucks, crafts and local eateries

Heritage Train — the Daffodil Festival Flyer, Carterton–Masterton, with Steam Inc

Entertainment — Wairarapa Fern & Thistle Pipe Band, Taoist Tai Chi Arts Wairarapa & more

Wai Art Show — at the Events Centre

The Library — open all day, including its Māori Collection of te reo resources
