History was made at 2026's World Famous Rock 2000, with 'Nil by Mouth' by Blindspott crowned #1, the first-ever Kiwi act to do so in Countdown's 20+ year history.

'Nil by Mouth' has danced around the Top 10 for some years, previously reaching #2 in 2024. But it's homegrown loyalty that has finally pushed Blindspott's breakdown single to take it off previous #1 winner, 'Chop Suey!' by System of a Down.

Rewatch the Live Ceremony of The Rock 2000 with Jay & Dunc as they count down to New Zealand's #1 song for 2026, or explore more history of The Rock 2000 through rova's Votetrackr.

All cheers to Tradestaff.
