Being a New Zealand Warriors fan comes with an emotional rollercoaster - and two young kids who jumped on the Wahs wagon learned that for themselves over the weekend.
The Warriors took on the Dolphins in a tight match on Saturday night, April 25, ultimately taking the win 20-18.
A video from the post-match celebrations at Hnry Stadium in Wellington has since gone viral, capturing the wholesome reaction of one little fella witnessing his first Warriors win in person.
Kaelani, the young fan’s mum, shared the moment on TikTok, where it’s racked up more than 150,000 views.
The clip shows her son holding up a creative sign featuring the Warriors’ Tiki mascot aboard a Wah-ka (waka/boat), paddling over the Dolphins’ mascot.
She explained it was his “third game, but the first one they’ve won”.
The young fan couldn’t hold back his proud tears - giving his mum and brother a cuddle before absolutely ripping into the team’s chant.
You can feel every bit of emotion as he shouts, “We are the Warriors 100%!”
“He waited a long time to sing that song 🥹,” his mum added.
“What a legend 🥹💙💚❤️,” the Warriors’ official page commented on the video.
Winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (DWZ) also jumped in, writing: “Nice little bro 🙏🏾❤️ love your passion!! Glad we got you the W!!”
“Welcome to the rollercoaster, little homie,” another fan added.
And he wasn’t the only young Wahs supporter feeling it over the weekend.
Another fan went viral after getting up close with one of his favourite players.
“It’s an emotional thing to meet your idol,” the caption read on a clip showing Leka Halasima jumping the railings into the crowd.
The kid's reaction says it all - his face is priceless.
Honestly, most of us would look the same meeting the legend that is Halasima.
I think it's safe to say, these two are Warriors fans for life.
