A proud mama has shared pride for her daughter gaining confidence through her kapa haka at kura.

Stallone Edmonds-Tepania shared a video on TikTok with the caption: “POV my baby girl went from zero confidence to a solo part in kapa haka.”

“Oh man! I have no words for this girl of mine,” she adds. “I’m the proudest mama on earth right now! Through it all, she still shines brighter! Our biggest example, my baby girl.”

In the video, Stallone’s daughter stands in front of her rōpū to lead a section of the waiata ‘He Kōnui, He Kōroa’ by Te Matatini and Te Kapa Haka o Ngāti Whakaue.

Through the nerves, her voice powered through, and after just her first line, the audience clapped for her bravery and talent.

Peep the moment her fierce pukana sneaks through - she’s one to watch!

In just 48 hours, the video has gone viral, racking up a whopping 1.5 million views and hundreds of comments from strangers proud to see her thriving in her haka.

“This is yet another beauty of Kapa haka and our love for waiata and haka; building strong, confident and proud humans,” one person said.

Another added: “The way you can still see how scared she was to be in front of so many people, but battled with it and pushed on, she's so strong 🥹.”

“Too much! 👏👏 And her confidence is only going to boost even more,” a third wrote.

Someone else said: “Proud of her for showing her culture to everyone.”

Plenty more praised her stunning voice. Ataahua!

I think we’re gonna have to keep an eye on this kotiro at Te Matatini in a few years, whānau.
