'Who asked for this evil?': Heinz releases new hash browns filled with baked beans

One person said its 'evil', another said they'll '100% smash'.

They may or may not be your cup of tea, but hash browns and baked beans are staples in the New Zealand breakfast repertoire.

Well, Heinz is saving everyone a little bit of time and precious plate space by releasing the two brekkie foods together, with 'Baked Beanz filled Hash Browns'. Currently, they're only set to come out in the UK, and tbh there is no better country suited to test them out.

WalesOnline says that the new food will "consist of an outer layer of crispy chopped potato that surrounds a core of beans," which sounds like a food someone thinks up during a late night, post-going out kitchen adventure.

They'll come frozen and all you'll have to do is chuck them in the oven or air fryer before you munch on them.

As expected, reactions are mixed. Twitter users on both the 'for' and 'against' side let their opinion be known.

"Who asked for this evil?" said one tweet.

"Would - WILL - 100% smash," tweeted out an eager beans lover.

"This is the worst timeline," another person said.

One person challenged the haters, saying "anyone not into this idea is a coward."

One Twitter user summed it up beautifully when they said: "I'm kind of repulsed and intrigued at the same time."

There were lots of tweets simply asking the age-old question - 'why?'

"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should," said one tweet that sums up the whole 'why?' argument.

Another person was simply wondering how Heinz will execute the potential new breakfast staple.

"How many beans tho," asked one person. "They would need to be at least sausage roll size for optimum bean/hash brown ratio."

As a big proponent of the big breakfast myself, I will definitely be trying this when they are available in NZ, I might even ship 'em over if I hear good things from the UK.
