Oh goody! Whittaker's new chocolate block might be their most nostalgic yet

Whittaker's has just announced their first new flavour since last year's Banana Caramel - and it's bound to get Kiwis reminiscing on the hot summers of their childhood.
The Limited Edition Whittaker's Gumdrop Block is set to hit supermarket shelves around the motu on Monday, the 20th of July, and Duck Island is also joining in on the fun (more on that later).
The block comes in that signature light green colour, combining Whittaker's 28% cocoa White Chocolate with bubblegum flavour and colourful, chewy gumdrops hidden throughout.
There are five different fruity gumdrop flavours, so no two squares are quite the same. We got to try a block here at rova HQ ahead of the launch, and we loved it. Although we did discover you can end up with the odd square with NO gumdrops in it, so select carefully before you share.

"Gumdrop Block has got to be Whittaker’s at its most playful," says Chief Marketing Officer Soraya Cottin.
"It’s a flavour that's a little unexpected, very nostalgic, and unlike anything we've released before.”
But wait, there's more. Whittaker's has also teamed up with Duck Island Icecream to create Bubble Gumdrop, a limited-edition flavour made with the new block and available a full day before the chocolate arrives.
You can head to your local Duck Island on World Ice Cream Day this Sunday (July 19th) to try it. The first 50 customers at each location will get their scoop for free, plus a free chocolate block to match.
Fun fact - this is the first time the two iconic Kiwi brands have collaborated on a new product, but Duck Island has been using Whittaker's in their ic cream since they opened over a decade ago.
The ice cream flavour "mixes pieces of Whittaker’s Gumdrop Block through a bubblegum ice cream base, with gumdrops scattered throughout".
Both the ice cream and the chocolate will only be available for a limited time, so if they sound like a bit of you, don't miss out!
