"Welcome home" Roger Tuivasa-Sheck confirms return to NRL and the Warriors

After playing for The Blues and The All Blacks, Tuivasa-Sheck is rejoining the One New Zealand Warriors.

Let me start by saying I'm not going to be responsible for any commentator's curse by talking about the Warrior's NRL season so far.

But with a run of wins, both home and away, and tries which will no doubt make the NRL end-of-season highlights, we can all agree it's been a pretty great start to 2023 for the One NZ Warriors.

And no matter what happens for the rest of the season going forward, we've already got some news that says 2024 will look just as good.

After leaving the side in 2021 to play for The Blues and ultimately the All Blacks, former captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has announced he's returning home to the One New Zealand Warriors.

Tuivasa-Sheck has signed a three-year contract, committing him to the side through the end of the 2026 season.

"It's hugely exciting knowing Roger is coming back to us, back to his home at Mount Smart Stadium," says One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.

Head coach Andrew Webster has also spoken of Tuivasa-Sheck's return and working with the player again.

"Roger came to the club in my second season as an assistant coach in 2016 and he had a huge impact on the squad, That first year was cut short by his ACL injury but it was brilliant working with him. I'm super excited knowing he's coming back to the club."

In the comments of Tuivasa-Sheck's announcement, the GOAT that is Shaun Johnson was among the many to welcome the Dally M Medal winner back "I reckon just come now ay. Welcome home bro".

Sharks Prop Braden Hamlin-Uele commented "Back to strapping my ankles, excited for the return uce" and soon-to-be teammate Dallin Watene-Zelezniak said "yes my bro!!".
