Christmas has come early for parents of 'Peppa Pig', because Wattie’s have just dropped brand new pasta cans shaped like the much-loved cartoon character.
Instead of the classic spaghetti swirl, you’ll now find tiny Peppa-shaped pasta pieces in that iconic Wattie’s tomato sauce that has basically raised half the country
Honestly, this could be the biggest parenting hack since the existence of 'Bluey'.
The whole idea is to turn mealtime from “please, just three bites” into something more enjoyable. Because if anything can turn kitchen negotiations into a moment of joy, it’s probably 'Peppa Pig'.
Watties have also encouraged Kiwis not just to serve it in a bowl and hope for the best, get creative, suggesting the pasta can be included in toasties, wraps, or even have a Bill English-style spaghetti pizza moment.
While it is hard to go past the iconic Spaghetti & Sausages, if this gets the youngsters eating without tears or flying food, we’re absolutely here for it.
It’s not the first time we’ve seen these cartoons turned into food; they’re also on our shelves as ‘tropical fruit snacks’ and Peppa Pig as cookies.
The new cans are hitting all major supermarkets around NZ, so keep an eye out next time you’re shopping (or chasing a toddler down aisle three).
And as a full-grown adult, I hope this is the first of many cartoons to be released. What could be next? SpongeBob, or maybe The Simpsons? I don’t know how, but I do feel like it would have my spaghetti on toast tasting extra good
