Popular YouTuber KSI has gone viral after attempting a haka, complete with a full on pukana - but some people are unimpressed by his teacher.

In a recent YouTube video, KSI was joined with his brother Deji Olatunji to rank celebrity lookalikes.

Late in the video, a Jason Momoa doppelgänger appeared with a loud “Cheehoo” before calling KSI “a warrior” and asking for his help.

KSI nervously stood up asking: “What’s he about to do to me?”

“My people, Māori Polynesia, the warrior spirit comes from deep within, the land and the sea,” the lookalike explained before telling the Youtuber: “We’re going to do a haka.”

The pair then launched into a quick lesson on the words and actions of the 'Ka Mate' haka.

“Ahh, that’s hard,” Deji excitedly said.

During the lesson, KSI was also taught a few phrases in Te Reo, including “taringa whakarongo”, which was explained by the lookalike to mean “get ready”, though it more accurately translates to listening closely or to pay attention.

The lookalike also taught him “ka rite” and “kia mau” before showing KSI how to pull off a pukana.

After throwing the whole performance together, people online had A LOT to say.

The clip has since gone viral after being reposted by OceanicPress, with commenters torn over appreciating the effort, and questioning the accuracy of the haka and Te Reo used in the video.

“This looks and sounds more like a kaka than a haka,” one person said.

“Someone let an actual kaiako teach him, bruh,” another wrote.

A third joked: “Send him to Te Matatini 😂.”

Others were more supportive of KSI giving it a go.

“Tautoko my bro, just needs a bit of work on it,” one commenter said.

Another wrote: “This is awesome! Seeing people embrace our culture from around the world is heartwarming.”

“You tried, and that’s all that matters. A bit more practice and you’ll be great ❤️,” they added.

And honestly, taking a haka to KSI’s massive audience of more than 18 million followers is still pretty huge.
