Pink was rocking the stage at the British Summer Time Festival in London's Hyde Park. The crowd was on fire, the music was pumping, and everything seemed to be going according to plan.
But then, out of the blue, a bag soared through the air, landing right on stage. What was inside? Brace yourselves... it was someone's dear ol' mum, or more specifically, her ashes.
Yes, you read that correctly. A fan decided it was the perfect time and place to bring along their mother's remains. Can you believe it? Neither can I!
I wish it was a joke, but the evidence has been posted to TikTok.
In the clip, Pink picks up the bag, saying: "This is your mum? I don't know how to feel about this..."
She then awkwardly places the bag back down on the stage before continuing to sing the line "I can't stay on your life support" from her hit song 'Just Like a Pill'.
Talk about timing! I don't know whether to giggle or uncomfortably curl into a ball.
Now, let's give credit where credit is due. Everyone copes with loss in their own way, and if taking your beloved mum's ashes on adventures brings you comfort, who am I to judge?
But let's take a step back and think about this for a moment. What did this fan expect Pink to do with those precious remains? Toss them into the crowd like confetti? Never!
While we may never know the true intentions behind this unusual gesture, it certainly adds an unexpected twist to the concert experience. Perhaps the mother had a deep connection to Pink's music and her daughter wanted to honour that bond in a truly unique way.
Regardless of the reasoning, it's safe to say that Pink herself was taken aback with a mix of confusion and surprise on her face.
While we're waiting for Pink to bring her Summer Carnival tour to NZ, we'll be thinking of ways to get her attention from the crowd but please, I beg you, don't bring along loved ones ashes!
