One man's attempted robbery has been thwarted by a group of willing customers at a Mangere McDonald's over the weekend.

A video posted to Twitter shows a group of men carrying another man out in to the parking lot while alarms ring out in the restaurant.

Footage does show that one man does throw a punch while the alleged robber being held, but no further action takes place.
