Fans of Kiwi rock legends Pluto are set to get their Christmases both early and all at once this November.

To celebrate 20 years of their landmark album 'Pipeline Under The Ocean', the band are dropping a deluxe vinyl reissue of the record - featuring remastered audio of the original tracks as well as five new unreleased songs.

On top of all of that, the five-piece is playing a special one-off show at Double Whammy in Auckland on November 8, where they'll play the full album, those never-before-heard songs and a few other old favourites, we're told.

Frontman Milan Borich and guitarist Tim Arnold told us that when they were first putting together 'Pipeline Under The Ocean', there were a whole bunch of songs that didn't make the cut.

"Listening back, we thought: 'What were we thinking?'" Tim said.

Luckily, the new vinyl version of the record allows the band to bring five of those forgotten songs back into the fold, including 'Hackney Town', which Tim and Milan performed for us in the rova studio.

The song is an ode to Pluto's inception in London, where Milan and Tim began as a duo. The lyrics refer to 'Ricky', who Milan explains was an ex-clown-turned-drug-dealer who insisted on watching the entirety of the East Enders omnibus on a Sunday before doing any, ahem, business.

Ahead of the album re-release, we were lucky enough to be the first to hear an acoustic performance of 'Hackney Town', as well as the band's smash hit 'Long White Cross'.

Watch the video above to be one of the first to hear the song, and check out our full chat with Milan and Tim here.
