We’re officially one week out from Ultra New Zealand hitting Wellington’s waterfront - and if you needed a reminder of what’s coming… Ultra Miami just delivered the goods.

The OG festival went full send over the weekend, stacked with surprise b2bs, unreleased heaters, and insane crowd moments. Safe to say, if even half this energy lands in NZ, we’re in for chaos (the good kind).

Here are five moments from Miami that’ve got us fizzing for the NZ iteration.

Swedish House Mafia b2b Eric Prydz

Swedish House Mafia made a surprise appearance with special guests, Afrojack, Armand Van Helden, Boys Noize, Kelly Lee Owens and MPH.

The OG Swedish House Mafia reunited for this year's Ultra. Eric Prydz was actually an original member of Swedish House Mafia until 2008, when he decided he wouldn’t join the group. He described himself as a control freak in the studio, who couldn’t abide by collaboration.

Worship debuts new music on the mainstage

Worship stepped up and dropped brand new music at Ultra - and it’s already got people talking.

Rumour has it the track features John Martin, which makes sense if you’re chasing that big, emotional, hands-in-the-air moment.

Even bigger - this is set to be the collective’s first official release under the Worship name.

MPH goes b2b with Swedish House Mafia

One of Swedish House Mafia’s guests was the man of the moment, MPH, who recently had major success with his remix of Calvin Harris’ classic track ‘I’m Not Alone.’

Seriously sick to see an iconic act like Swedish House Mafia platforming an upcomer and giving MPH his flowers on the main stage. The big dogs are bringing the next wave through.

John Summit sends it into the crowd

John Summit closed out the mainstage with a set packed full of IDs from his upcoming album CTRL ESCAPE.

Fans were low-key expecting a surprise guest - maybe Dom Dolla, maybe Fred again.. - but Summit didn’t need it.

Instead, he dropped “Where You Are” and launched himself straight into the crowd.

If Miami’s anything to go by, Ultra New Zealand is about to be very real.
