WATCH: Disney+ have dropped 'The Mandalorian' season 2 trailer

Season 2 is set to release October 30th.

Earlier in the month, Disney+ announced that The Mandalorian season 2 is set to release October 30th. Now, they've released the first trailer, which centres on the addition of the Jedi.

Daniel Rutledge from Newshub notes that New Zealand actor Temuera Morrison stars in season 2 but is not seen in the trailer - at least, not with his helmet off. The Once Were Warriors star played Jango Fett in 2002's Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and is believed to be portraying Boba Fett in the TV show.

Fellow New Zealander Taika Waititi directed the finale of the first season and voiced the IG-11 Droid character, which also isn't seen in the new trailer.

Instead, it focuses on the Mandalorian taking Baby Yoda on a journey - apparently to find the Jedi.

"You expect me to search the galaxy and return this creature to a race of enemy sorcerers?" the title character asks.

"This is the way," replies the Armorer.

Other quintessential Star Wars elements join the Jedi in the trailer, including X-wing and TIE Fighter spaceships.
