Sam Vogel aka Jauz, the man behind iconic tunes like ‘Feel the Volume’ and ‘Rock the Party’, has just announced he is taking a break from the Jauz project.
“I’m going to keep this short and sweet as I’ll have a lot more to say really soon," he wrote on Instagram.
He went on: “After these next few shows, I’ll be taking a break from playing shows or putting out music as JAUZ for the foreseeable future.”
The JAUZ project has been ongoing for over a decade, starting in 2014..
In the post, he announced a “proper retrospective” extended set at Academy in Los Angeles this weekend. He described LA “as the city that made all my wildest dreams a reality".
He said the show would be “a truly extended set for my day ones and OG sharksquad, featuring the records that shaped my career from 2014 all the way to today".
Acknowledging the future, he said: “I’m not going away forever - but I’m closing the chapter on this part of my career and life to make way for what comes next. So if you want to live in this chapter one last time, I’ll see you on the dancefloor Saturday.”
The comment section has already been flooded with fellow artists and fans.
“You were one of the artists who made me want to pursue a music career!” one wrote.
Another said, “You’re a legend bro. Your art has inspired myself and so many others along the way.”
In recent years, Sam has started a family with his wife, and he has even delved into making a number of drum & bass records.
Jauz has had a long history with touring New Zealand, including giving Lee Mvtthews one of their first big support slot opportunities back in 2018. He also played the Rhythm & Vines mainstage in 2019.
We’re hoping this just means a short break before a new project is announced, but whatever the future holds, we wish Sam and his family all the best!
