U2 to headline NFL Thanksgiving Eve Halftime show live on Netflix

U2 are celebrating their 50th anniversary with a massive halftime performance during the NFL's first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game, live from SoFi Stadium in California.

The Irish rock legends will take the stage when the Green Bay Packers face the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, November 25 in the US.

For us Kiwis, that's Thursday, November 26, with the game kicking off at 2pm NZDT and U2 expected to perform around 3.30pm. The exact halftime time will depend on how the game plays out.

The 22-time Grammy winners are no strangers to a stadium-sized spectacle, but this one's a bit special, marking five decades together as a band.

It's also not their first crack at an NFL halftime show.

Back in 2002, U2 headlined Super Bowl XXXVI in New Orleans, delivering an emotional tribute to victims of the September 11 attacks.

The whole thing will stream live on Netflix, with no additional payment needed beyond an active subscription.

This one will be cool to chuck on in the office.
