U2 have marked the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine with the release of a powerful new video for ‘Yours Eternally’, a collaboration featuring Ed Sheeran and Ukrainian artist Taras Topolia.

The video, directed by Ilya Mikhaylus, premiered today, aligning with four years since the invasion began, and delivers a visual tribute to those still defending their country.

‘Yours Eternally’ is accompanied by footage drawn from a documentary about Ukrainian soldiers fighting on the front lines and features soldiers from the 2nd “Khartiya” Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine.

Rather than your usual music clip, this offers a confronting yet human snapshot of a nation at war, soundtracked by the song's uplifting message.

The track features on U2’s recent project ‘Days of Ash’, a collection shaped by themes of conflict, resilience and moral responsibility.

The album, which was released last week, sees the band returning to politically charged songwriting, echoing the spirit of earlier records while tackling present-day crises head-on.

‘Yours Eternally’ stands out as one of its most direct statements, blending U2’s anthemic style alongside Sheeran’s melody and Topolia’s emotional delivery.

Four years on from the invasion, the release serves as both a memorial and a message of solidarity, once again highlighting U2’s long history of engaging with global issues through their music.

This song, as well as the rest of the album, also serves as a reminder of the times and the many conflicts around the world that seem far from over, urging listeners to reflect and empathise with those affected.
