After a difficult finale episode of The Block NZ: Redemption, show sponsor TSB has announced it'll give the three losing teams $10,000 each.
Blue team's Chloe & Ben were awarded $100,000 as the winners for The Block 2022, when their house took the most profit, selling $4000 over the reserve.
But their fellow teams were not so lucky. Fellow contestants Maree and James Steele were the only other team to have sold their house on the night - but only pocketed the $100 they made over their reserve.
The other two teams' homes, designed by Quinn & Ben and Stacy & Adam failed to sell during the auctions but sold after the show ended.
TSB Bank, who were sponsors of this year's series, announced on their Facebook page that they would gift the three losing teams $10,000 each because they "didn't want to see any teams go home empty-handed".
"As a proud partner of Three's The Block NZ, congratulations to all of the teams for your hard mahi this season," TSB said in a Facebook post.
"You've created beautiful houses and should be proud of what you've achieved over the last 12 weeks."
Maree and James shared their appreciation on TSB's post, saying they were "blown away by this act of kindness".
"Thank you TSB New Zealand. We are so grateful and still can not believe this is happening. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you," they commented.
The Block NZ is set to return for season 11 next year, with rumours circulating that they will be located in Auckland once again.
