Travis Barker has talked his 22-year-old son Landon Barker out of appearing on The Voice.
The Blink-182 rocker shared the news on the latest episode of the New York Times' Popcast podcast.
"My son called me the other day and he's like, 'Hey, they offered me to go on The Voice,'" Barker confided. "I was like, 'Dude, you're way too cool for that. You got to think about your idols. If your idol is Kurt Cobain, would he ever do The Voice? No.'"
The drummer, who shares Landon, daughter Alabama Barker and stepdaughter Atiana de la Hoya with ex Shanna Moakler, acknowledged that the advice might be a little contradictory, in light of the fact that he has performed on American Idol several times.
"I'm different," he reasoned. "I'm doing fun s**t that's just fun for me 'cause I'm a drummer and I'm not on the forefront. It'd be different if I was singing with all these people."
Travis's advice to Landon, who's been pursuing a singing career, was to "stay on your own trajectory".
"I'm in the studio, I hear the songs that he's creating," he added. "There's no rush, you know?"
Barker is also dad to two-year-old son Rocky Barker with his wife, Kourtney Kardashian.
Landon is in a relationship with model Skyla Sanders. The couple went public with their romance in May 2025. He was previously linked to dancer Charli D'Amelio for more than a year before they split in early 2024.
