We’re halfway through September, or as we’ve been calling it here at the Sound - Zep-tember.
To briefly sum up what that’s all about, throughout the month, our on-air team have been highlighting Led Zeppelin's best moments and tracks.
To continue our Zep-tember celebrations online, read on as our Sound Drive host Tracey Donaldson recalls the time she was lucky enough to meet band members Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.
“I don't know how I got SO lucky to meet Jimmy Page TWICE in London.
“The first time was 1997 at an Aerosmith gig at Wembley. As I worked for a record company, I had seats in the VIP area.
“About halfway through the show, I noticed Jimmy Page was two seats away from me!
“At the end of the gig, I got to shake his hand very briefly and say ‘Hi’, then I leaned over and took the plastic cup he'd left on his seat that he'd been drinking beer from.
“I still have it almost 30 years later! Hah.
“In 2007, I met him again on Kensington High Street.

“We were walking to the pub to meet friends, and Jimmy was just standing outside of a Gaming shop, talking on the phone - so casual!
“He was incredibly gracious, talked to us for a few minutes and took photos with us.
“Jimmy had worked with my father-in-law back in the 60s, and so Jimmy and my husband made small talk about that for a few minutes.
“I showed him my ZOSO tattoo on my wrist (a logo he'd designed for Led Zep 4) and he loved it.
“If that wasn't incredible enough, in 2012, when Robert Plant came to Auckland, the head of Warner Music (knowing I was a massive Zep fan) invited me to meet him after the show.

“We got to hang out for about 20 minutes and had a glass of wine with him; he seemed to have all the time in the world for his fans.
Some great memories to have! If you have any Led Zeppelin stories you’d like to share, send a message through The Sound Facebook page.
