On this Easter Sunday special of The House of Wellness with Chemist Warehouse on the Breeze, Mike & Carolyn revisit some of their favourite chats from the year so far.

Join us as we hear from Kiwi actress Robyn Malcolm, media personality Brodie Kane, somatic sexologist Morgan Penn and Dave Monro from the Heart Foundation. Plus, Nicky Styris is in to give some great tips for keeping fit over 50, and City Kickboxing’s Eugene Bareman tells us about the Walk Without Fear Trust.

Featured Guest: Robyn Malcolm

Kiwi acting royalty Robyn Malcolm joined us to reflect on a career that continues to evolve into her 60s.

Known for her roles in ‘Outrageous Fortune’ and the recent ‘Pike River’ movie, she speaks about ageing, purpose, self-acceptance and encourages women to “own” every stage of life, rather than fear it.

She believes losing purpose is what ages people, and seeking new experiences is the true key to remaining youthful.

Featured Guest: Brodie Kane

Media personality Brodie Kane is a busy bee - but she chooses to live this very full life on her own terms.

Despite being on the go with many different projects, she stays grounded by reminding herself that she is “lucky” and “grateful” for the chaos.

“I crave routine,” she says. “But, you know, sometimes the routine falls by the wayside and you actually can start to feel it. And you know that these chaotic moments are temporary.”

Featured Guest: Morgan Penn

Somatic sexologist Morgan Penn sat down to chat about how we can better feel connected to our bodies, ourselves and redefine confidence.

“I’m in a very privileged place of guiding people back into their bodies,” she explained.

“Which means they can then connect into their sexual selves if they have been disconnected.”

She says the biggest need for her clients is “slowness” as it allows us to enjoy the subtleties of pleasure in the body.

Featured Guest: Dave Monro

With heart disease among the forefront of Aotearoa’s biggest health challenges, the Heart Foundation’s Dave Monro was in to talk about prevention.

Dave explained how diet, physical activity, smoking, stress and alcohol consumption all play a significant role in heart health. Increasing plant-based foods like fruit and vegetables, reducing highly processed foods and salt and monitoring blood pressure can make a meaningful difference in reducing risk and supporting long-term health.

Featured Guest: Nicky Styris

Nicky Styris joined us once again to chat about fitness over 50.

Nicky explains that fitness isn’t just about exercise, but about mindset. She shared that the key to ageing well is accepting your body’s changes - recovery takes longer, hormones shift and fat distribution changes.

However, she insists that with the right approach, strength can be maintained. Functional exercises, consistent movement and proper nutrition are essential, and above all else - doing something is always better than doing nothing.

Featured Guest: Eugene Bareman

Head coach of City Kickboxing Eugene Bareman is helping to lead change through the Walk Without Fear Trust

The trust was created after a close friend and fighter from the gym lost his life to a ‘coward punch’ during a night out. A coward punch is an unprovoked, blindsided strike often to the back of the head.

Confronted by how often these incidents happen and how rarely they’re spoken about, Eugene and his team turned their grief into action.

Focusing on prevention and education, the Trust are using school visits and community outreach to teach young people about the real-life impact of violence.

Catch the full episode up top and tune in next Sunday from 8am for The House of Wellness on the Breeze.
