This opportunity comes once in a lifetime: Eminem just one win away from exclusive EGOT title

Do I hear '8 Mile The Musical' on its way?!

We already know Eminem is the GOAT but, is he EGOT? The rapper is just one award away from the EGOT status after winning an Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (live).

If you didn't already know, EGOT status is a high level of achievement in the entertainment industry, where a performer wins an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.

Slim Shady became an Emmy award winner for his performance in the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show.

The rapper performed in the Super Bowl halftime show alongside Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent earlier this year when the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals went head-to-head at SoFi Stadium.

All 5 of the artists won alongside Eminem, with executive producer Jay-Z also winning an Emmy.

Unfortunately, none of the Emmy-winning artists were there to accept the award, so Adam Blackstone who also won an award for outstanding music direction for the halftime show honoured them all.

He said: "Each of those five artists could have headlined themselves easily, but I was entrusted to make sure that everybody had their fair time."

"I did not want to leave the viewer wanting anything more or missing their favourite moments from each of their favourite artists."

Blackstone continued, "I took pride in cultivating everybody's 90 to 100 seconds, and it came together to be what is now the Emmy award-winning Super Bowl halftime show."

Eminem has previously won an Oscar in 2003 in the Best Original Song category for "Lose Yourself" from the iconic film 8 Mile. He has also received 15 Grammy awards in numerous categories between 2000-2019.

The only award Slim Shady has to receive is a Tony award, which honours the best in Broadway musical theatre.

Something tells me he might let that one slip through his fingers.

Only 17 people have managed to achieve EGOT status. The group includes Audrey Hepburn, Whoopi Goldberg, John Legend and most recently, Jennifer Hudson.

So with a broadway musical standing in the way, I say we get '8 Mile - The Musical' up and running, anyone else?
