As anticipation builds for New Zealand's first IKEA store to fling open its doors at 11 tomorrow morning (causing massive traffic delays), the app has quietly gone live, allowing online shoppers to get their fix early.
Now, let's not get ahead of ourselves - you can't actually check out yet, that would annoy the 15,000 - 20,000 keen Kiwis planning to make the mission to Sylvia Park tomorrow. You can, however, browse products and get an idea of the prices and special deals, which are looking pretty bloody good.
Some of IKEA's most iconic products are now online, like the Kallax shelving unit for $99, the Malm queen bed frame for $399, the Lack coffee table for a very reasonable $59.99, the Billy bookcase for $149 and the Klippan sofa at $399.

There are also less essential, more viral items up for grabs, like the Varmblixt 'donut lamp' for $95.99 and the Djungelskog stuffed toy bear for $49.99. I haven't wanted a teddy bear this badly since I was seven years old.
There are also special deals on which mean you can pick up an iconic big blue IKEA carrier bag for just $1, or grab a 16-piece Mopsig cutlery set for $5.50.
Another cool thing you can do on the app is scan any room to see what IKEA products would look like in your home, which is a great way to justify your growing shopping cart to your significant other/flatmates/mum etc.

You can also sign up to be an IKEA Family member for free, which gives you special discounts, access to workshops, a $10 voucher on your birthday, discounted delivery and extra time at Småland, the childcare centre in store.
If you are planning to make your way out to Sylvia Park at some stage, the app lets you scan as you shop and create your cart, plus you can skip the line for faster checkout once you've had your fill of meatballs and flatpack furniture.
Just saying - has anyone checked on Kmart lately?
