The Dominator & The Hitman talk Rugby World Cup, Athletics and Djokovic's greatness

The boys reunite for their weekly sports wrap ahead of the AB's second RWC game and the 'creme de la creme' of athletics.

Hamish 'The Hitman' McKay and Dom 'The Dominator' George caught up to discuss some of the hottest topics in sports right now.

The Rugby World Cup has been a hotbed of controversy, with referees taking centre stage more often than the athletes.

According to McKay, "It's a global tournament run by referees, and they seem to be the chief spectacle at the moment."

George and McKay debated the impact of the collision rule on the games and pondered the inconsistencies around penalties.

"It is frustrating, but it is what it is and as long as it's even for all teams that'll be the only good saving ground," McKay said.

The conversation shifted from the rugby field to the tennis court, where Novak Djokovic's unparalleled skill has stirred up discussions on his place in tennis history. Despite his numerous Grand Slam wins, Djokovic is not universally recognized as the greatest tennis player of all time.

George posed the question, "Why can we not just see him as the greatest tennis player of all time?"

To which McKay responded, "I don't know why it's that. To me, he's a very funny man. He's had a couple of strange ideas that haven't appealed to anybody."

The episode wasn't all rugby and tennis, though. The pair also previewed the final Diamond League meeting of the year, a highlight in track and field events.

"This is the sort of creme de la creme of athletics and track and field, outside of the Olympics and the World Championship," McKay said.

The discussion was packed with insights and humorous anecdotes, proving once again that sports are not just about scores and statistics but also about passion, dedication, and even a bit of controversy.

As McKay summed it up, "What would life be like without sport?"
