The Chase reveals it's new sixth Chaser to join the team

Welcome to the team!

We've been well used to seeing the five brilliant Chasers of the TV quiz show The Chase on our screen.

Made up of Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty, Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha and Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan, the team has been solid now for many years - but it is about to get a bit of a shake up!

ITV, the television company behind The Chase, have now added a brand new chaser to the line-up in the form of ex-contestant Darragh Ennis.

The contestant impressed show bosses that they decided to get him back as a chaser.

Taking to social media to confirm the reports, Darragh posted: "I'm really excited to be the 6th chaser on #TheChase.

None of the current chasers will be leaving the show to make way for Darragh, with the Irish quizzer becoming a new addition.

A source told The Mirror: "Darragh has got what it takes to be a Chaser, he has been put to the test and passed with flying colours.

"They don't bring in new members on The Chase regularly so this is a big deal for the show and Darragh. Viewers will be very interested to see how he gets on."

Fans of the show may remember Darragh bringing back £9,000 for the final chase, with his fellow players all accepting minus offers, which eventually left them with a cash prize of just £2,700.

Show bosses have not yet officially confirmed the news, but Darragh does look set to star.
