The CDJ-3000X is here and it's STACKED with new features

An absolute game changer for DJs

Overnight, Alpha Theta revealed their “next-generation media player” - the CDJ-3000X.

This is the successor to the CDJ-3000, which Pioneer released in 2020.

The first CDJ to go online with built-in WiFi, NFC pairing, and direct access to cloud-based music libraries.

It’s also the first CDJ without the Pioneer DJ brand name on the decks.

Here’s every new feature on the CDJ-3000X:

Larger 10.1-inch Screen:

The new 3000X boasts a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen and displays up to 16 tracks on-screen simultaneously.

Connectivity:

This CDJ includes built-in WiFi.

A game-changer for DJs, you no longer need to rely on a USB. You can now simply scan a QR code to access Dropbox, Google Drive and Tidal.

And with the NFC touchpoint, you can now hover your smartphone in front of the CDJ-3000X and connect directly to the Rekordbox app.

This will instantly connect you to music from the cloud and streaming services, no login required.

Playlist Edit Feature:

The playlist edit feature allows you to edit playlists directly on the device, copy and paste search terms, and use the new 'Global Tag List' feature to create/edit playlists directly on the device, combining local and cloud-based music.

Universal DJ Library:

The new universal DJ library is an evolution of rekordbox’s Device Library Plus that allows users to use compatible hardware to play music exported from USB, not only from rekordbox. It now also allows music from Traktor Pro 4 and djay Pro.

Enhanced audio quality:

A new high-performance DAC is included in the new CDJ, with a redeveloped power supply. Alpha Theta says this will produce high-resolution sound that balances punch with clarity, and will stand out in the club. The new unit also features improved channel separation and frequency response.

Performance updates:

There are a number of performance updates with the play and clue buttons rebuilt. According to Alpha Theta, they can now withstand 500,000 additional presses compared to the previous CDJ-3000.

USB port:

It’s goodbye to the SD card port and hello to the additional USB-C port. Along with all of the new connectivity features, the 3000X continues to take USB-A.

New Hot Cue:

The new hot cue functionality includes Touch Cue for real-time track monitoring, Smart Cue for automatic overwriting and Gate Cue for creative tone play techniques.

Cue buttons:

The new design features the “strongest ever” play/cue buttons.

Redesigned Jog Wheel:

The jog wheel now offers expanded tension adjustment. It will feature more “smooth, precise control” when scratching and pitch blending.

Locking Power cable:

A new locking power cable is included with the CDJ, which will prevent accidental disconnection.

The CDJ3000X is expected to launch in mid-September and will be around $5,999.
