Hamilton the Musical has taken the world by storm since it first opened on Broadway back in August 2015.
The story follows one of America's forgotten founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton and his journey of going from being an immigrant to one of the most prolific leading members of the country.
Earlier this week the cast were welcomed to Tamaki Makaurau with an emotional powhiri at the Ngati Whatua Orakei Marae. This morning, they put on a special performance for selected media (us included!) to give Kiwis a taste of the talent they can expect on the Hamilton stage.
Michael Cassel, Hamilton's executive producer, said New Zealand audiences are in for "an absolute treat".
"Our cast, our crew, our creative team over the past few days have been putting the finishing touches on our set, on our production, on the show ahead of our first audience who we will welcome through the doors."
As well as getting ready for the curtains to go up, the cast found time to prepare a "very special musical gift" in the form of a rendition of Stan Walker's song 'Aotearoa'.
Check out the full performance in the video above - and if you're keen to get to the show yourself, tickets for all of the 20 Spark Arena shows are available now.
