Chris Luxon joined the George Breakfast to rate some big tunes and he made some big calls.
We called the game 'Lux-on, Lux-off' (good right?) and gave Luxon three tunes to rate.
First up, Rudimental's brand new tune 'Break My Heart'. The National Party leader only needed a couple of seconds before letting us know he feels about the track.
"I love Rudimental, that's Lux-on," he said.
Flume's newly released (he actually made it in 2014) 'Slugger 1.4' was the next song that ol' Chrissy boy judged.
"Uh, Lux-off," he said, straight-faced. After Tammy told him "it's Flume!", Chris let us know that the trans-Tasman rivalry may have influenced his decision, saying: "I'm no Australian."
Gaarn Chris.
The third and final tune is a controversial one. David Guetta's remix of Eiffel 65's 'Blue'. Earlier this year we played it for you listeners in a game of 'Rark it or Cark it' and all three callers haaated it.
Luxon though, reckons it is a jam.
"Ooh that's Lux-on," he said. Tammy was absolutely gobsmacked by Chris' decision.
"Nooo, nooo Chris! Oh mate," he screamed. General Lee was stoked though, seeing as he loves the tune.
I say we skip the next election and just have Jacinda (well-known deck maestro and former RNV performer) go up against Chris in an aux-off for the ages. Whoever plays the best tunes gets to become the next Prime Minister. Why not?
