A video of a teenager belting out Alice in Chains’ Would? at a rock camp in the States has blown up online, and honestly, it’s hard not to see why.

In the video, sixteen year old Charles Parker is onstage at rock camp, next to a few fellow teenage musicians. He nails the vocals on the song, and people in the comments have nothing but good things to say about this young bloke’s voice.

“Dude, not an easy song to sing. I’m super impressed,” one person wrote. Another commented, “Dude I was ready to cringe but HOLY F**K that's sick.”

Even better, the few other teens playing with him? They met Charles four days before this performance. Not even a real band, just some rock-loving strangers who accidentally formed an extremely impressive cover of a tricky song to nail.

The video was posted by the teen’s mum, Kristi, and has racked up over 1.7 million views across TikTok and Instagram.

“Close enough, welcome back Layne Staley,” is a recurring comment on the post, while another wrote, “The mannerisms. The tone. The sunglasses. 11/10. No notes.”

The kid has pipes. If this is what rock’s next generation looks like, I reckon we’re in good hands.
