Taylor Swift roasted over 'horrendous' editing 'fail'

Taylor Swift has found herself in the firing line over what some fans described as a "horrendous" editing "fail".

The singer's announcement of her new single was overshadowed by fans pointing out a detail on the song's cover art.

Featuring a photo of Taylor, 37, wearing a black halterneck and leaning against a wall, the image attracted a raft of negative commentary when she posted it to her Instagram page.

"I've been impatiently waiting to tell you that my brand new single "Patient Zero" will be out on September 25 (!!!!!!!!!!!!) and it's available to pre-order now on my website for 24 hours," Taylor wrote in a caption accompanying the image.

However, while comments on Taylor's post were turned off, fans were quick to express their feelings about the photo on other social media channels, with many claiming the side of Taylor's arm appeared to have been "over-airbrushed".

"They Photoshopped your shoulder outta existence," one fan wrote on X, adding, "I can edit you better for free on Canvas (sic)."

"I'm so sorry but why does the side of her look so poorly edited? It looks way over-airbrushed and almost AI," another wrote.

"No shade, but they edited her armpit to HELL," another pointed out.

Others pleaded with the Grammy winner to cough up for a better cover designer.

"The Photoshop on Taylor Swift's "Patient Zero" cover is horrendous... girl, you're a billionaire, please get a professional photographer," one fan begged.

Others insisted the image did not even resemble Taylor and questioned whether the extreme editing was a deliberate creative choice.

"Am I tripping or does this not look like Taylor Swift?" one wrote. "Like did she ai herself... maybe it's intentional."
