Taylor Swift earns first CMA nomination in four years

Taylor Swift is up for Single of the Year at the 2026 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards.

The Shake It Off singer, who got her start in country music before becoming a pop superstar, returned to her country roots earlier this year with I Knew It, I Knew You for the Toy Story 5 soundtrack.

Swift has now received a CMA nomination for Single of the Year for the track, marking her first nod from the association in four years and her first time in that category in 13 years.

She was nominated for Video of the Year for her Chris Stapleton collaboration I Bet You Think About Me in 2022, and was last up for Single of the Year for Highway Don't Care with Tim McGraw in 2013.

Swift, who last won a CMA in 2017, has been shortlisted alongside Cody Johnson for The Fall, Somewhere Over Laredo by Lainey Wilson, and Ella Langley, who is a double Single of the Year nominee with Be Her and Choosin' Texas.

Langley leads this year's nominees with nine, including Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Dandelion, Music Video of the Year and two nods for Song of the Year.

She shared the nominations on her Instagram Stories and wrote, "What an honour @cma," with a heart and emotional emoji.

The night's top prize, Entertainer of the Year, will be a competition between Langley, Johnson, Wilson, Stapleton and Luke Combs.

Miranda Lambert follows with seven, and Kacey Musgraves with five.

The 60th annual CMA Awards will air live on ABC and Disney+ from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee on 18 November.
