Kiwi food company Tasti has recalled even more of its products after finding additional batches may contain tiny pieces of metal.
The Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) issued a warning on Saturday, stating that certain Tasti products could be contaminated. That recall has now been extended to cover more batches of Tasti bars, peanuts, and snack balls, which are sold in supermarkets and shops nationwide.
In a social media post, Tasti said: “Our stringent food safety systems have identified the potential presence of exceptionally thin metal wire in raw materials that are used in a selection of our products.”
NZ Food Safety’s Vincent Arbuckle said the advice is simple: ”If you have any at home, don’t eat them. You can return them to the place of purchase for a refund. If that’s not possible, throw them out.”
While there are no reports of injury, if you have consumed any of these products and have any concerns about your health, seek medical advice.
