Tadpole, one of New Zealand’s most influential rock bands, made a triumphant return in 2024 after nearly two decades away.

Formed in Auckland in 1994, they earned platinum records and chart-topping hits like For Me and Backdoor, cementing their place in Kiwi music history.

Their 2024 reformation introduced powerhouse vocalist Lauren Marshall alongside original members Chris Yong, Dean Lawton, Shannon Brown, and DJ Kritikl, injecting fresh energy while staying true to Tadpole’s signature hook-heavy sound.

August 2025 marked a major milestone with the release of George - their first new single in 19 years and Marshall’s studio debut with the band.

A bold reinvention of Headless Chickens’ 1994 hit, it reunites Tadpole with legendary producer Malcolm Welsford and Grammy-winning mastering engineer Ted Jensen, delivering a modern, stadium-ready rock anthem.

The single kicks off celebrations for the 25th anniversary of The Buddhafinger, signaling Tadpole’s creative rebirth and reaffirming their place at the forefront of New Zealand rock.
