'Are you all ok?': T-Pain caught in hilarious All Whites mix-up with Tim Payne

T-Pain has been caught up in a mix of X posts, mistaking him for one of our very own All Whites playing at the FIFA World Cup.
I know he’s not a footballer, you most likely know he’s not a footballer, but food delivery service DoorDash somehow mistook the ‘Booty Wurk’ singer for Tim Payne, the NZ footballer who has made global headlines after going mega viral thanks to an Argentine influencer.
During New Zealand’s match against Egypt (we won’t talk about the score), the ‘I’m Sprung’ artist was hounded with play-by-play support from DoorDash.
“I literally don’t play soccer,” the musician wrote in response to a DoorDash post saying: “TPain, you gave everything out there tonight. We saw it.”
The delivery service shared a follow-up post, writing: “This is when the true GOATs show up @tpain the game is in your hands! Let's gooooo @NZ_Football.”
To which T-Pain added: “The intern is gonna shit a brick when they realise 😂.”
It continued until T-Pain asked: “Are you all okay??? @DoorDash stop tagging me in these soccer posts.”
In a post this morning, DoorDash finally addressed the mistake, writing: “To everyone who saw my tweets last night... No, you didn't. 😭”
And to add salt to the wound for T-Pain, he has shared a video showing an unexpected delivery of NZ goods to his house, including what looks like mini pavlovas, Tim Tams and kiwifruit.
“It was funny at first for the internet, but now you’re doing it on purpose,” he says to DoorDash.
It’s either an entertaining marketing play or, as it appears, quite the muck-up - but who knows, T-Pain could try his hand (well, foot) at a bit of game play with the All Whites.
After Tim Payne’s announcement to take his talents overseas, there’ll be a gap that needs to be filled.
Who do we need to talk to to make this happen?!
