A whole new wave of Kiwi kids is about to experience the magic of Suzy Cato!

A brand new season of the beloved children’s show ‘You and Me’ will be hitting screens next month - but it’s not what you or I are used to.

This time around, the show will stream on YouTube to keep up with the kiddos' watching habits.

Kiwi kids can catch the first episode of the new ‘You and Me’ season from Saturday, May 2.

It’s been a whopping 28 years since Suzy last hosted the now extremely nostalgic show - way to make some of us feel ancient.

“Over the years, I’ve been so lucky to meet people who grew up watching ‘You and Me’, and now they’re parents themselves,” Suzy says.

It’s incredibly special to know they can now introduce their own little ones to the show and the songs and share that joy together.

The first broadcast of the show hit our screens on TV3 back in 1993 and since then delivered upwards of a whopping 2,000 episodes.

What's special is that it's credited as one of the first NZ children's shows to weave Te Reo Māori into everyday conversation.

And this latest season will continue with that same legacy.

For decades, we couldn’t get “It’s our time… Kia ora. Talofa. It's our time, a special time of day…” out of our heads, either. It’s only fitting we pass that same, catchy tune to a new generation, too!

Every week, Suzy will release a song from each of the upcoming 25 weekly episodes and ‘It’s Our Time’ is one of them.

She’s already released the theme song for the young ones to bop along to in the meantime, with ‘It’s Our Time’ following next week on April 25.

It’s an exciting time, and I, for one, can’t wait to introduce all the little ones in my life to the iconic Kiwi legend.
