Superstar, Akshay Kumar Hits Pause for Surgery

Bollywood star Akshay Kumar underwent a minor eye surgery for vision correction yesterday. Known for his relentless work ethic and packed filming schedules, the actor has decided to briefly slow down and prioritize his health following the medical procedure.

The surgery took place immediately after Kumar wrapped up the Keralam shooting schedule for his upcoming film directed by Anees Bazmee. This project features an ensemble cast including Vidya Balan and Raashii Khanna. Just prior to the procedure, the actor had shared his enthusiasm on social media, praising the "madness behind the camera" and his "incredible co-stars."

The actor now plans to take a short break to recuperate and recover from the surgery. This hiatus comes at a time when he is already celebrating the success of his recent film, Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. Despite his reputation for maintaining a highly disciplined lifestyle—including famously avoiding samosas for 15 years—the minor procedure necessitated a temporary pause in his professional commitments.

Once fully recovered, Kumar is expected to return to a busy slate of high-profile projects. His upcoming film lineup remains extensive, with titles such as Welcome to the Jungle, Haiwaan, and Golmaal 5 currently in development. For now, the focus remains on a smooth recovery before he returns to the film sets.
