Watch: Yungblud and Aerosmith members lead Ozzy Osbourne tribute at VMAs

Plus Joe Perry and Nuno Bettencourt joined them for the tribute medley.

Ozzy Osbourne has just been honoured with a moving tribute at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, following the recent passing of the metal icon.

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Extreme’s Nuno Bettencourt, and Yungblud came together on stage for a powerful performance celebrating the Prince of Darkness.

The four rockers performed a compilation of some of Ozzy's greatest hits. They kicked off the medley with 'Crazy Train', with Yungblud covering vocals and bringing some serious energy, as well as wearing the cross necklace Ozzy previously gifted him.

They then headed into 'Changes', which has become a staple cover for Yungblud since the Back to the Beginning concert.

For the third and final song of the medley, 'Mama I'm Coming Home', Steven Tyler accompanied Yungblud on vocals for an epic rendition of the ballad.

The tribute ended with Yungblud yelling, "Ozzy forever!" before hugging the rest of the crew.

Before taking the stage, Yungblud was interviewed on the red carpet by Billboard where he was asked what we’d expect from his performance. He answered: “Good old rock n’ roll in the name of the King.”

When asked what Ozzy song has had the most impact on his life, he said: “This morning I’ve been listening to 'No More Tears', 'Believer', I like his later stuff as well that he did with Watt, like 'Patient Number 9', I’ve been doing it all man.”

As for his favourite album, he said it would be Ozzy’s live album 'Tribute' that he did with Randy Rhoads: “It's insane. Children of the Grave, crazy man.”

“He’s here, he’s with me, I’ve got his cross on. Ozzy forever, man," he later told ENews about the necklace Ozzy gifted him.

Speaking about the loss, he said: “It’s the craziest thing I've had to navigate in the last couple years, you know, I think like, to get to know a hero of yours and then he passes away, as you kind of start to really get to know each other as humans was really hard."

“But as I said, I’m gonna play this song every night for the rest of my life and keep that guy’s legacy alive. He was everything for me, ya know, and I love the family.”
