Squid Game creator reveals when season 2 should be released

He's given us some more insight as to what we can expect in season 2 as well.

If you're anything like us, as soon as you finished watching Netflix's Squid Game, you were ready for a second season.

Last month, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed that a script doesn't even exist yet, and didn't tell us much about his ideas for season 2.

But just recently, he told Variety that he hopes to have the second season on Netflix by the end of 2024.

Although that feels like a long time away, if it's anything like season one, we think it'll be worth the wait.

The director also spoke to Deadline about the storyline for the follow-up season, saying:

"There will be more great games, that's all I can say."

When he was asked if we can expect our favourite characters to return, he logically replied: "No, because most of them are dead. I'll try something to bring them back to Season 2."

He also hinted that Kang Sae-byeok, who's played by HoYeon Jung, might be making a return, but not in the same form.

"Let's say maybe she has a twin sister, you'll see" he said, adding: "I could change my hair colour. Let's do a little like plastic surgery."

Meanwhile, as UniLad reports, the director is also working on "another controversial film."

Dong-hyuk and his producer, Jun Young Jang have reportedly already written 25 pages for the new project, which is said to be inspired by the novel Killing Old People Club by Umberto Eco.

We can't wait for season 2 of Squid Game, and this new film that Dong-hyuk is working on!
