Desch, from the Mai Hot 20's, visited his alma mater, De La Salle, and caught up with the school's debate team.
Nineteen students from De La Salle College, South Auckland debate have been invited to the 2026 World International Model United Nations (WMUN) conference in New York City, USA.
"The invitation comes after the school’s exceptional performance at the 2025 Model United Nations Assembly competition, where De La Salle placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd among over 100 teams from more than 30 schools nationwide," Mr Otto Wendt, De La Salle College's teacher wrote on the fundraising event.
"In recognition of their achievements, the United Nations Federation has formally invited the De La Salle Debate Team to participate in the global event."
An incredible achievement by the rangatahi - they're not just making South Auckland proud, but representing Aotearoa on the world stage.
However, with the competition being held in the USA, the costs are huge. So if you're in a position to help support the team, you can do it HERE.
"This is a huge achievement for the school, and it would mean the world to not only the debate team, but to all the students of De La Salle College and present. We need your help to get them here; every bit of support counts."
The De La Salle debate team also has a few fundraisers to help towards the cause.
